  1. Vistehola Rogaland - the relationship between cultural heritage conservation, recreational use and universal design

    How do we conserve our cultural heritage sites while also making them accessible to the public? As visitor numbers increase, the need to implement effective management routines, and innovative solutions also increases. We believe our experiences from Vistehola, one of Norway's most well known and best preserved stone age dwellings, may provide guidelines and inspiration for similar projects elsewhere.

  3. GEOCACHING IN PRESCHOOLS

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Halland Regional Council with local partners in Sweden. It was aimed at teaching preschool teachers to learn how to use a GPS for teaching purposes, followed by them using this technology with children aged 3-6 years by integrating this activity into their work plan.

  4. “STORYTELLING” – TRANSMISSION OF LOCAL HISTORY CONNECTED TO THE NORTH SEA TRAIL

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Hordaland County Council with local partners in Norway. It was aimed at using local history as a resource for creating added value to existing natural and cultural heritage, and for developing new activity-stimulating measures linking existing products and services along the North Sea Trail.

  6. DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLICATION OF COAST ALIVE! CIRCULAR WALKS IN THE KING’S LYNN AREA and LAUNCH OF THE KING’S LYNN BOOKLET

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Norfolk County Council with local partners in UK. It focused on families with young children from more deprived backgrounds who were relatively inactive and who did little exercise, and was aimed at drawing local people out into nature using the existing network of local paths and green spaces.

  7. FROM THE ICE AGE TO THE ICE AGE - A HERITAGE TRAIL

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by the Municipality of Kragerø with local partners in Norway. It was aimed at increasing physical activity among the general public, increasing awareness of local historic sites and their importance, enhancing a sense of personal identity and roots and providing an outdoor activity for schools. One focus was on the Ice Age, including the history of ice production and export.
  8. NORWEGIAN HIKING FESTIVAL - Planning and Event

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Møre and Romsdal County with local partners in Norway. It aimed to create an increased focus on hiking, public health and use of organized nature based activities, to stimulate nature and culture based development, strengthen local outdoor life identity, encourage and engage local societies, upgrade and professionalise the use of hiking products for tourists and the local population, create an increased consciousness of a sustainable environment and of sustainable tourism and promote Norway and Nordmøre and its qualities as a hiking destination.

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by North Jutland with local partners in Denmark. It was aimed at drawing local people, who were relatively inactive and who did little exercise, to use nature and all its activities.
  10. CITO (Cache in – trash out) GEOCACHING IN ALL MUNICIPALITIES IN NORTH JUTLAND REGION

    This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by North Jutland with local partners in Denmark. It was aimed at encouraging more people to be active outdoors by becoming involved in geocaching.
