CMI The Great Outdoor Activities Day
This activity was aimed at testing how best to attract the general public to a range of outdoor activities and ensure that as many as possible of them participated. -
Backpacks, what works and what is needed?
This initiative was aimed at developing different sets of backpack content for different types of visitors. By developing sets of equipent, it was hoped that visitors would rent or buy a backpack suited to their interests or plans for the family. The project worked, but showed very different results from those originally anticipated. -
"Bike it" gets people cycling
"Bike it" was the delivery of a mass cycle ride that aimed to raise awareness and promote health and exercise by inviting groups, schools and individuals to participate. It was open to all ages, abilities and backgrounds and delivered under the guidance of the National Park Authority utilising the Coast Alive Project with the support of partner organisations and local businesses. -
COASTAL ACCESS, HERITAGE ASSET SCORING
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Norfolk County Council with local partners in UK. It aimed to create a systematic examination and assessment of the known heritage assets which lie along the coast. This would enable the extension of an existing coastal path, so that assets which are vulnerable to public access could be protected and assets which are of significant interest and importance to the public understanding of the county’s coastal heritage could be promoted. -
MAKE A NEW “OUTDOOR” FRIEND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Rogaland County Council as a lead into initiatives with other local partners in Norway. A promotional product was developed for use as a ‘give-away’ or prize at events that Coast Alive partners might wish to run, being useful for motivating participation. -
MAKE A NEW OUTDOOR FRIEND – KICK-OFF ACTIVITY DAY - Haugalandet
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Rogaland County Council, with local partners in Norway. It was aimed at encouraging local people to walk or cycle ride in their local neighbourhood and encouraging them to invite their friends and acquaintances to join in. -
CITO (Cache in – trash out) GEOCACHING IN ALL MUNICIPALITIES IN NORTH JUTLAND REGION
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by North Jutland with local partners in Denmark. It was aimed at encouraging more people to be active outdoors by becoming involved in geocaching.
