PROJECT “Livsgledeløypa” – THE JOY OF LIFE TRAIL
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Hordaland County Council with local partners in Norway. It was aimed at increasing local interest in the North Sea Trail and upgrading 16 local trails to reach a national standard for all trails used for hiking, cycling, cross country skiing and kayaking. -

Its aim was to inform stakeholders and others about the Coast Alive project. The overall aim was to reduce physical and mental barriers hindering physical activity among the in-active parts of the population, and to help the beginning of a new pattern of light and enjoyable exercise for people who, for various reasons, are inactive or less-active today. -
COASTAL ACCESS, HERITAGE ASSET SCORING
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Norfolk County Council with local partners in UK. It aimed to create a systematic examination and assessment of the known heritage assets which lie along the coast. This would enable the extension of an existing coastal path, so that assets which are vulnerable to public access could be protected and assets which are of significant interest and importance to the public understanding of the county’s coastal heritage could be promoted. -
CITO (Cache in – trash out) GEOCACHING IN ALL MUNICIPALITIES IN NORTH JUTLAND REGION
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by North Jutland with local partners in Denmark. It was aimed at encouraging more people to be active outdoors by becoming involved in geocaching. -
FJELL FORTRESS – ROUND TRIP WITH UNIVERSAL DESIGN
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Hordaland County Council with local partners in Norway. It was a pilot project aimed at making natural and cultural heritage (more) accessible for disabled user groups in a popular tourist spot, Fjell Fortress. -
Mission 24 - Young Developers
Organisations and businesses give a group of students a mission to solve in 24 hours: “How can you get new groups of people more physically active using new techniques?” The basis was making more people physically active, thereby their tendency to use the car less frequently, to socialise more and become sick less often. Thus considerable cost savings could be made for the municipalities, the regional council and for business companies. -
Backpacks, what works and what is needed?
This initiative was aimed at developing different sets of backpack content for different types of visitors. By developing sets of equipent, it was hoped that visitors would rent or buy a backpack suited to their interests or plans for the family. The project worked, but showed very different results from those originally anticipated. -
CMI The Great Outdoor Activities Day
This activity was aimed at testing how best to attract the general public to a range of outdoor activities and ensure that as many as possible of them participated.
