In Møre and Romsdal, there are many different trips and outdoor areas for various types of activities. There are also many books describing tours/trips, and people are generally fond of nature. There are areas that are more used than others though. Therefore, we developed a tool in the form of a database that could be used in various ways.

International Appalachian Trail
The Coast Alive partners decided early on in the project that it would be very useful to team up with the International Appalachian Trail partnership. Now we all work together to develop routes, and to share marketing platforms for our many walkers. We always hope that some of the famous 'Through Hikers' from the Appalachian Trail will hit our North Sea trails. They will all be made very welcome. -

It was aimed at inspiring local people, who were relatively inactive and who did little exercise, to be active in the countryside, with events suitable to all ages, interests and aspirations. -

It aimed to give people the confidence to explore more of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on foot, to inspire people to spend interesting days away from the most popular coastal sites and to enable them do so as sustainably as possible. -

MAKE A NEW OUTDOOR FRIEND – KICK-OFF ACTIVITY DAY - Haugalandet
This is one of many Community Mobilisation Initiatives developed by Coast Alive partners. This one was done by Rogaland County Council, with local partners in Norway. It was aimed at encouraging local people to walk or cycle ride in their local neighbourhood and encouraging them to invite their friends and acquaintances to join in. -
